We went to one of Jackson's basketball games on Saturday. He played really well and had such an awesome shot that I didn't catch in time with the camera, but here is a little video of him. My camera really doesn't take sport shots well, so I can only get video or still photos. The skill level now as compared to 2 years ago is crazy and the kids actually pass to each other and work as a team. Jackson looks like he really enjoys it when he is on the court and he definitely tries hard to get the ball as you can see from the video. We're looking forward to watching more of his games.

Belly pics

12 weeks

I had my first stranger at work ask me when I am due which threw me off guard because I thought I just looked fat. You can see in the pictures that I have just a little belly, but quite a bit different then my usual flat tummy. No weight gain yet but the baby is definitely growing. I have been feeling great and have more energy. Still running and doing whatever exercise I feel like doing.

A couple days ago, Katie lent us a fetal home doppler to listen to the baby's heart beat. It was neat. It took us about 10 mins, but we found it. It sounded like a little choo choo train and was beating at 162-174 bpm. It seems so much more real to hear the heart beat.

11 week Ultrasound

Today we had our first prenatal appointment with my actual doctor. Normally you are supposed to get to hear the heartbeat, but our little one was playing hard to find, so my doctor ended up having to do an ultrasound instead where I could see the heart beating. The baby looks more like a baby now than a blob/line seen in the last ultrasound. It is amazing just how much has changed in 5 weeks. I am definitely noticing the changes now that few of my pants fit. Although when I got weighed at the doctor today I had not gained a pound surprisingly. And our due date got changed back to September 2, 2010 after my doctor looked at the 6 week ultrasound. Jackson or Grant may be sharing a birthday with their niece or nephew.

Our Visit to Greg and Stacy's

We went to Reno this past weekend and had a great time visiting our friends Greg and Stacy. On Saturday, Stacy took us up to Lake Tahoe and we drove around the whole lake. It was beautiful as you can see in the pictures. We were trying to find a trail to go down to the water, but instead found a short trail off the side of the road with a nice waterfall and view of Emerald Bay which is where we took some of the pictures. That night we went out to a Basque Restaurant where we had an enormous amount of food. It is crazy. First there is bread, then soup, then salad, then beef stew...then you order your main entree...which for me was steak. Then came the main entree with pinto beans and a huge plate of fries, then there was ice cream to top it off. Everything was really good. Chris was so stuffed though, he just had to go for a walk. Then on Sunday, we went up to Virginia City, an old turn of the century mining town and went on a tour of one of the mines and walked the shops. It was a busy and fun weekend. Stacy is the sweetest host and I felt bad I had moments of just utter fatigue by the time Sunday afternoon came around.
